That barista's tip about outlet hogs made me check the whole cafe

I was coding at a busy spot in Austin last Tuesday and overheard the barista tell a regular that they hide two outlets on purpose behind the pastry case for regulars. Apparently they got tired of people camping at the wall seats for 6 hours on one coffee. I sat there for a minute and realized I've been that person, hogging a prime outlet spot since 9am without ordering after my first cup. It made me rethink how I pick tables, so now I scope out the outlet situation before I even open my laptop. That extra walk to the counter every 90 minutes for a refill is annoying but keeps me honest and the staff friendly. Has anyone else found that certain cafes actually limit power to push turnover, or is this just a Texas thing?
