Spent $15 on a 'portable' desk that was basically a tiny, wobbly TV tray in a park in Austin.

I set it up at a cafe, my laptop immediately slid off, and the whole thing folded up like a cheap lawn chair... anyone have a real travel desk they actually trust?

That sounds like the exact same "desk" I bought from a gas station off I-35 last year. The wobble is so bad you could use it as a level. I've just accepted that a solid park bench or a lap desk is the only real answer, anything that folds up that small is basically a prank.

Wait, you bought a desk at a gas station?

Ngl, did yours also come with that "assembly required" sticker that was just a joke? The instructions were just a blurry picture of a rectangle with arrows going in circles. Honestly I spent more time trying to figure out why the legs weren't matching up than I did actually using it. Tbh I think they just look at a pile of particle board and screws and call it a desk. Was yours missing half the hardware too or was that just my luck?
