Shoutout to the cafe in Lisbon that had a power strip at every table, which saved my week when my laptop battery died.
After my charger broke on a Monday, I worked from that spot for three straight days, and the staff never once gave me side-eye for camping out, so has anyone found a similar lifesaver cafe in a different city?

Sounds like a good way to get your stuff stolen.

come on, is it really that big a deal though? people leave stuff on their porch all the time and it's fine. sure, there's always a chance someone grabs it, but that's true even if you're standing right there. i mean, @paul117 mentioned knowing the right people, which is funny but also kind of true - some places have a pretty chill community vibe where nobody messes with your stuff. i've left a laptop on my stoop for an hour while i ran to the store and nothing happened. the whole "get your stuff stolen" thing feels like one of those warnings people say because they saw it on the news once. plus, most packages are just random junk anyway, not like it's a gold bar.

It's also a good way to get your stuff back if you know the right people (which most people don't, obviously).
