PSA: Ergonomic chairs at my go-to cafe are a total win for coding
I've been coding from cafes for a while now, and one big issue was always the seats. After a couple hours, my back would start to hurt, and I'd have to pack up. But last week, my usual spot, Java Junction, swapped out their old chairs for these padded ones with good back support. I sat there for four hours straight yesterday and finished a whole module for my app. No aches at all, which is huge for me. It felt like a small win because I've been stuck on that part for days. Now I'm actually looking forward to my next work session there. If your local cafe has uncomfortable seating, maybe suggest they upgrade, it's worth it.

Ever think about how much more coffee and food you buy when you can sit comfortably for hours? That cafe's probably making a way better profit off you now.

Yeah I started bringing cash only to cafes for that reason. Once that twenty's gone, I'm out. Makes you really think about that third latte, right?

Honestly, that profit angle is smart, but my brain would find a way to ruin it. I'd get the good chair, finally be comfortable, and then spend all that extra time stuck in a deep Wikipedia hole about like, the history of concrete. My back would be great, but I'd have gotten zero work done and now I'm an expert on sidewalk curing times. It's a real talent. Still, a comfy seat is a game changer when you can actually focus.

Watch how a cafe sets up its space once it wants you to stay. They'll add power outlets at every seat, push tables together for big groups, and use those big cushy chairs that are hard to get out of. Even the music volume and slow Wi-Fi can be tuned to keep you there just a bit longer. It's all about turning your comfort into another round of orders, because a relaxed person with a laptop is basically a wallet that hasn't closed yet.
