I always picked the quietest corner seat in a cafe until a guy in Austin told me his trick
He said he always sits near the counter for the first hour to soak up the busy energy and get into a flow state, then moves to a quieter spot. I tried it yesterday at that new place on 5th Street and actually finished a project proposal by 11 AM. Does anyone else have a specific seat strategy that works for them?

Read something similar once. This writer said he always faces a wall if he needs to focus. No distractions from people walking by. But if he's stuck, he turns his chair toward the room. Lets the movement kickstart his brain again. Tried it at the library last week and it kinda worked.

Read a blog post once from a guy who said he picks his seat based on the type of work. If it's creative, he sits where he can see a door or window for ideas. For boring admin stuff, he finds the most boring corner possible. Makes sense. The environment acts like a cue for your brain.

Yeah, that tracks with what @mila_craig4 said about the environment being a cue. I do something like that where I'll sit at a high-top near the window if I'm brainstorming, but for editing I need a back booth. It just puts my head in the right space.
