Hot take: I stopped trying to find the 'perfect' quiet cafe in Lisbon

I used to waste an hour each morning hunting for a silent spot, but my work just didn't get done. Now I just pack my Loop earplugs, pick any cafe with good coffee, and block out the noise. Anyone else have a simple tool that fixed a big cafe work problem?

Ever try those foam earplugs? I used to get so mad at espresso machine hissing and chair scraping sounds. The foam ones you roll up and stick in your ears are cheap and cut out all the background clatter. They don't look like anything, but they turn a loud room into a quiet hum. I keep a pair in every bag now.

Watched a friend in Berlin get so frustrated with cafe chatter that he almost gave up. He finally bought a cheap, bulky pair of construction earmuffs from a hardware store. Looked ridiculous sitting there with his laptop, but he said the total silence was a game changer for his focus.
