Hot take: coffee shop Wi-Fi passwords should be banned from being posted on Yelp
I overheard some guy at Brew Lab in Austin bragging about how he found the Wi-Fi password on Yelp before he even walked in, and I think it just ruins the whole vibe of having to actually order something to get the code.

Places like Brew Lab use the password trick to keep tables from filling up with laptop users who never buy anything. If you can just look up the code online, you get people camping out for hours on a single iced coffee while paying customers can't find a seat. I have a friend who works at a shop in Portland and they had to change their password three times in one month because of Yelp posts. The whole point of having a password at all is to reward people who actually support the business. Posting it online just turns the coffee shop into a free co-working space.

Watched a guy at a cafe once type in four different passwords from Reddit before one worked, barista just glared at him the whole time.
