Am I the only one who bought a $40 folding footrest and now can't work without it?
Five years ago I used to work from random cafe chairs in Saigon with my laptop on my knees and a backpack as a desk. My back hated me but I was young and cheap. Two winters back I dropped about $40 on a little folding footrest that fits in my tote, and it's the only gear buy that has stuck with me. My posture at the tall window bar at my usual spot in Denver is way better, and I can sit for a 3 hour stretch without my lower back yelling at me. It looks silly pulling it out, and one barista gave me a look, but it stays in the bag. What's the one small cheap thing you carry that people side-eye but you won't leave home without?
