Warning: that $60 burr grinder saved my mornings but nearly killed my wallet
I grabbed a $60 hand burr grinder at a flea market in Evanston last month, thinking I was being smart, and it gave me a much more even grind than my old blade whirler, so my pour overs quit coming out bitter. Then the little catch cup cracked after two weeks and replacements cost almost as much as the grinder did. Is it worth duct-taping the thing together, or should I just save up for something with a metal cup?
