Update: I thought the $180 grinder was a waste, then my old blade finally gave out

I used a $40 blade grinder for close to 4 years and always figured anyone buying a burr grinder was just showing off. Then mine died mid pot on a Sunday in Fort Wayne and I grabbed a Baratza Encore out of plain panic. The difference in my morning cup was not subtle, the same beans tasted way less bitter and I could actually taste the chocolate note people keep going on about. Now I feel a little dumb for arguing about this on here, so what did you all run before switching?
