The mortar my neighbor lent me cracked my kitchen tile
Thursday night, I tried to fix a loose tile near my sink. Used his pre-mixed thinset without checking the bag. It was for exterior stone, not ceramic. Within 2 hours the tile popped up and cracked in half. Had to pull everything out and redo it with the right stuff from Home Depot. Does anyone else check the fine print on adhesive bags before trusting a friend's stash?

Honestly the bag was super sneaky, it looked almost exactly like the regular ones but with a tiny little stitch on the side. I had the same thing happen with a knockoff phone case once, it was so close I didn't notice until the camera hole was slightly off. So yeah, it's totally easy to miss and then you're stuck with it feeling dumb.
