Switched my beans from the freezer to a shelf jar and the taste flip was obvious in 9 days
I always froze my beans, bag and all, because everyone here swears it keeps them fresh for months, but on November 3rd I got lazy and left a 12oz bag of a medium Guatemalan on the counter in a mason jar instead. By the 12th, the same coffee I had brewed on day one tasted flat and woody, and the frozen half of that bag still had the fruit notes when I ground it the next morning. Is there anyone here who actually likes room temp storage better, or did I just mess up by not sealing the jar tight enough?
