Showerthought: My strict no-afternoon rule backfired big time
I stopped drinking brew past noon to help with sleep. It sounded smart after some tips online. Now I get headaches by late afternoon and feel groggy. My focus at work dips hard around three pm. I miss that little pick-me-up that got me through the day. Trying to push through without it just makes me crabby. So my plan to feel better actually made things worse for me.

Your 'plan to feel better' line really stuck with me. I tried cutting out my evening snack to eat healthier, but then I'd wake up hungry at 3 AM and raid the kitchen. It's funny how our good ideas can twist around like that.

That bit about your plan to feel better making things worse hits home. Maybe you cut back too fast. Could try having just half a cup after noon instead of none, taper off slower.

My friend Mark tried quitting sugar cold turkey last January. He lasted three days before he ate an entire box of cookies in one sitting. The weird part was he switched to drinking like six diet sodas a day instead. It just shows how cutting one thing out can make you grab something else just as bad.
