PSA: Your drip machine is probably running cold and your scale won't tell you that

I bought a cheap thermometer probe for $8 last month and stuck it under my drip machine's shower head out of pure boredom. Water was coming out at 176 degrees, not the 195 to 205 I kept reading about. I think a lot of people here spend $200 on a grinder and never check this one thing. My buddy in Columbus checked his and was at 181. If you've ever wondered why your home brew tastes flat compared to a cafe, has anyone else tested their machine, and what temp did you get?
