I hit 50 pour-overs in a row without a stall and it changed my mind about grind size
I always thought fine grinds were the way to go for flavor, but after tracking my brew times for a month I noticed coarser grinds gave me zero stalls and cleaner cups. Has anyone else found that a specific number of consistent brews made them rethink their whole method?

...and that's the thing, once you hit that streak of clean brews it changes your whole approach. I had this same moment about six months ago. I was stuck on 20-22 clicks on my grinder, chasing those "perfect" 3:30 brew times from the internet, but I kept getting stalls and bitterness. One weekend I went way coarser, like 26 clicks, and everything changed. The bed was still, the drawdown was predictable, and I haven't gone back to fine since. It's almost like fine grinding is a trap for flavor because it sounds right on paper, but in practice it just ends up clogging everything.

Those 26 clicks sound like a big jump. Did you have to play with your water temp or pour structure at all to keep the extraction even?
