Dropped $60 on a fancy coffee grinder that couldn't even grind fine enough
I bought this supposedly high-end manual grinder from a local shop downtown last month, thinking it would be an upgrade from my $20 blade one. First batch, the burrs jammed up on medium roast beans and I spent 20 minutes unclogging it. Even on the finest setting, the grounds looked like gravel mixed with dust, no consistency at all. Has anyone else fallen for a grinder that just looked good but performed like garbage?

@nathan289 reminds me of a ceramic grinder that shed metal flakes into my morning brew.

grit mixed with dust" yeah that sounds about right. I had a similar scam with a hand grinder that looked like it was carved from a single piece of oak. First use, the handle literally snapped off in my hand. I ended up using a pair of pliers to turn it for the next week until I gave up and went back to my $15 blade grinder that at least doesn't break. The worst part was I tried to return it and the shop guy said "oh that model has a known issue with the burrs binding" like that was normal.
