Watched a guy at a Denver hackathon debug with print statements while everyone laughed, then he won
I was at a beginner coding night in Denver last month and this guy Marcus kept using print statements to track his variables while the room full of bootcamp grads smirked at him. He shipped a working app in 3 hours and took first place, meanwhile the guy next to me spent 90 minutes fighting a debugger he barely understood. I deleted my fancy IDE extensions that night and went back to basics for a while. Does anyone else think beginners get pushed into tools way too early?
