Vent: That free coding bootcamp meetup in Denver pushed their own paid course too hard
I went to a free beginner Python workshop hosted by a local bootcamp in Denver last Tuesday, and instead of actually teaching us how to write a single loop, the speaker spent 40 minutes pitching their 3-month program which made me feel like I wasted an evening I could've spent watching YouTube tutorials.

Ugh same thing happened at a JavaScript meetup I went to last month.

Yeah "ugh same thing happened" is exactly how I felt. I actually read this article last week about how JS meetups are becoming these weird echo chambers where everyone just flexes their latest framework knowledge instead of actually helping each other debug stuff. It was comparing the vibe to like 2015 when everyone was nice and would walk through problems step by step. Now its just people throwing around terms like "observables" and "state management" without explaining the basics first. Totally kills the whole point of a meetup if you ask me.
