Vent: My friend said learning to code was just memorizing syntax, and it made me quit for a month.
I realized the real skill is problem-solving, not just typing. Anyone else get stuck thinking it was all about remembering commands?

It's like thinking knowing how to use a hammer makes you a carpenter. The real work is in knowing what to build and how to put it together.

Exactly. People mistake the tool for the skill.

Remember that article about how everyone thought Instagram photographers were geniuses just for using fancy filters? It's the same thing. The real skill is seeing the shot and knowing composition, not just slapping a preset on a bad picture. Tools just make the execution easier, they don't give you the vision. You see it with AI art now too, where people think prompting is the same as being an artist. The tool gets the credit for the work that actually comes from human skill.
