Vent: my first Python script died because I named a file random.py at the Charlotte library
Sat down at the Charlotte library last Tuesday with a 40 line script from a YouTube tutorial and got a weird error about a module having no attribute, spent 20 minutes googling before a guy next to me pointed at my filename. Turned out random.py was shadowing the built in random module, renamed it to dice_roll.py and it ran fine. How do you even learn stuff like that without someone sitting next to you?
