Rant: I blew off version control for 4 months and a deleted file changed my mind
When I started learning to code in January I thought Git was just extra steps for people with big projects, so I kept saving my Python practice files as script_final_v2.py like a fool. Last week I deleted a working function by accident while cleaning up my folder and spent 3 hours retyping it from memory, and it came out worse than the original. How long did it take you to actually start using version control, and was it a mistake like mine that pushed you into it?
