My friend in Austin started with Python, I went with JavaScript three years ago
He got into data stuff faster, but I found web projects easier to share. Now we're debating which is actually better for a total beginner. What's your take?

My cousin in Chicago had the same debate last year. The best starter language is the one that gets you building something you care about fast. That early win matters more than any technical argument.
