My first Python script for my garden data totally crashed after 3 days of work. Should I have started with something simpler?

Ugh, that's the worst feeling. My first script tried to rename a bunch of photos and just deleted half the folder instead. Starting simple is smart, but sometimes you just have to crash into the wall to learn where it is, you know?

Seriously? No way. Crashing into walls is how you lose real data forever. @victor_hall, you got lucky it was just photos you could maybe restore. My buddy wrote a script that messed up his whole work project, took days to fix. Starting simple isn't just smart, it's the only safe way to learn.
