A code review comment that actually stuck with me

Last month in our weekly review, a senior dev told me my variable names were too clever. She said 'if I need a dictionary to understand what xyzDoesThing means, it's not helpful.' I renamed everything to plain words like userCount instead of cU and my debugging time dropped by half. Has anyone else gotten feedback that felt harsh but completely changed how they write code?
