My first clean 1/4 inch cut on 3/16 plate happened last Thursday in my garage
I'd been fighting dross and a ragged kerf for about two weeks after I swapped to a new tip, and last Thursday in my garage I finally slowed the feed down to 28 ipm and the cut came out smooth with almost no dross to chip off. I ran the same line three more times just to make sure it wasn't a fluke and every one looked the same. What feed and amperage are you all running on 3/16 mild steel, since I'm still not sure 28 is the sweet spot or if I just got lucky?
