The time my coolant line turned my shop into a slip and slide

I was running a big aluminum job on our old Haas VF-2 last Thursday, and a clamp must have nudged the coolant line loose. Next thing I know, there's a geyser hitting the ceiling and 10 gallons of Trim Sol are all over the floor. My buddy Greg tried to run over and shut it off, but he took one step and went down like a cartoon character. Anyone else have a coolant disaster story?

That "geyser hitting the ceiling" visual is too real. It makes you wonder about the slip hazard after you clean up. That slick residue gets everywhere, even on your shoes, so you're skating around for days. It's like what happened with @thomas.mark's boss, where the fix just makes a new problem. Honestly, the real disaster is the smell that lingers forever, no matter how much you scrub.

My old boss once tried to soak up a spill with floor dry, but he used the whole bag and made a sand dune we had to shovel out.

That "fix making a new problem" thing is everywhere. Like @thomas.mark's boss with the floor dry sand dune, or when you use too much cleaner and just spread the grease around. People go way overboard trying to solve one mess and end up creating a bigger, dumber one to deal with later. It's like a law of the universe now.
