The old mastercam v9 posts at my last shop vs what we run now

I mean, we spent a whole shift last week fixing a post for a 1998 Mori that the old guy who retired in 2018 swore by, but our new Haas CAM wrote the same part in 20 minutes flat, so has anyone else seen code way older than the machines actually running smoother than modern defaults?
