Spent $340 on a Renishaw probe for my Haas and I'd do it again, sorry to the old guys who say touching off with paper is fine

Watched a video where a guy tested paper vs a probe on the same part and the paper was off by almost two thou every time, just from the thickness alone. Meanwhile the probe hit the same number over and over. That said, our lead guy has been touching off with paper for 30 years and his parts come out fine, so I get both sides. For $340 you're buying speed and repeatability more than anything, and that's worth it if you're running a lot of jobs.
