Saw a Bridgeport in Fort Worth with a hand-scraped table and it made my import mill look like a toy
Was at a small job shop off Vickery Blvd in Fort Worth last Tuesday and the owner let me look at his 1970s Bridgeport. The table ways were hand scraped and you could see the flaking pattern, butter smooth with zero slop on the handles. I run a newer import knee mill in my garage and I kept thinking about how much backlash I've been living with this whole time. Are the old American iron machines really that much better or did I just get a lemon with mine?
