Vent: I stopped using branded takeout boxes for my delivery-only BBQ and went with plain kraft
Everyone in the local kitchen group keeps saying you need custom printed boxes to look real, but I ran the numbers after 7 months and switched my BBQ joint in Akron to plain kraft boxes with a cheap sticker. My packaging cost dropped from $1.30 per order to around 55 cents, and my review score went UP from 4.3 to 4.6 over the next 3 months. Turns out customers care way more about the box not being soggy when the brisket shows up than they do about a logo. The branded ones were thinner and leaked grease on about 1 in 10 orders, which got me a couple of nasty comments. My sticker peels off in the heat sometimes and no one has complained once. Curious if anyone else here has ditched the fancy boxes and what you use to keep ribs from sweating through.
