That crazy Wednesday when 12 orders showed up at once during dinner rush

Last Wednesday I got slammed. 12 orders came in between 5:30 and 5:45. My kitchen is small so I had to use the microwave and the stove at the same time. Has anyone else figured out how to handle those sudden rushes without burning anything?

Ended up steaming them instead of searing" - I gotta be honest with you, I don't think a slightly subpar steak is the end of the world during a rush. People ordering dinner at 5:30 on a Wednesday probably aren't inspecting the crust on their meat with a magnifying glass. Half of them are probably just glad they don't have to cook for themselves. And splitting orders between the microwave and stove sounds like the only real option if your setup is tight. I'd rather have everything come out hot and edible than try to be a gourmet chef and have half the tickets sitting there for 20 minutes.

12 orders in 15 minutes? Man I feel that pain. I had a Friday night where 9 tickets came through at once and my dumb ass decided to try searing two steaks in a pan that barely fits one. Ended up steaming them instead of searing and had to nuke some sides to even get stuff out the door. The worst part was cleaning up the grease splash all over the stove top after.
