One delivery driver's comment fixed my whole packaging system

I had a regular customer complain twice about cold fries, so I bought those insulated bags from the supply store for like $60. Last Tuesday this driver doing a pickup told me the bags were fine, but my boxes were too tall so they didn't seal right in his rack. He showed me how he folds the flaps on other places' containers and that was it. I switched to flatter 9 inch boxes the next day and my reheat complaints dropped to zero in two weeks. Has anyone else gotten packaging advice from a driver that beat what any consultant said?

Funny how the real experts are the ones who actually touch the boxes every day, not the ones charging $200 an hour to look at a spreadsheet. You basically got a custom consulting session for the price of a tip.

Ha! Trust me, I've been that guy with the clipboard nodding along while the tech spots the real issue in ten seconds. My last "expert" consult cost me three hundred bucks and the guy basically told me to reboot the thing. The technician who actually showed up fixed it in five minutes and showed me how to avoid the problem going forward. So yeah, I'll take the hands-on advice and a good tip over a fancy report any day. At least the tip buys me a beer while I'm waiting for the real fix.
