Wasted $80 on a bamboo bicycle pump that wouldn't hold air, back to the old manual one
Bought one of those fancy bamboo air pumps for my bike, figured it was eco friendly and looked cool. Three weeks in, the leather seal dried out and it would lose pressure overnight. Tried oiling it, tightening things, nothing worked. $80 gone, and my old rusty pump from 2015 still works fine. Has anyone else had luck with sustainable gear that just doesn't perform? I want to support green products but not if they break this fast.

Last summer I dropped $120 on a compostable rain jacket that fell apart at the seams after two hikes, and the company blamed me for storing it wrong. My $15 plastic poncho from a gas station has survived three years of storms and still looks like garbage but works perfectly. Sometimes the eco-friendly stuff is just a pretty way to waste money, and I've learned to stick with what actually lasts.
