Swapped from gas lawn mower to an electric reel mower last spring

After running the numbers on gas costs and noise complaints from my neighbor Carol in Portland, the reel mower cuts cleaner and saves me $120 a season on fuel and maintenance - has anyone else made the switch and noticed cleaner air in their yard too?

Cleaner air in your yard" lol come on. I swapped to a gas mower last spring and my lawn looks way better because it actually mulches the leaves properly. That reel mower of yours probably leaves grass clippings all over the place and you have to rake after every cut. Plus you have to sharpen those blades every few weeks unless you like torn up grass blades. I spend like 30 bucks a year on gas and oil for my Honda and it starts on the first pull every time.

You mentioned "30 bucks a year on gas and oil" but you're forgetting the noise pollution angle nobody talks about. I live in a neighborhood with a bunch of families with little kids and dogs, and switching to a reel mower actually made my yard a chill spot again on Saturday mornings. No more drowning out the birds or having my dog freak out every time I mow. Plus the exercise is real - I burned like 200 extra calories per mow last summer and saved money on gas at the same time. Kinda wild how everyone focuses on the lawn look but ignores how loud and smelly gas mowers make your whole block.
