Serious question, did a $45 home energy audit kit actually save anyone money?
I bought one of those smart home energy monitor kits back in March for $45 because I wanted to find where our house was leaking power. The app kept disconnecting and the readings were so far off from our actual utility bill that I gave up after three weeks. Turns out the kit only tracked two circuits and the sensor clamps didn't fit our older breaker box. I'm out $45 plus the $60 I paid an electrician to look at the setup. Did anyone here get real numbers out of one of these, or should I just call the utility for a free audit?
