Pro tip: the library's free energy kit audit beat the $200 smart thermostat install guy
Last spring I got a free home energy kit from the Denver library. It had a thermal leak detector and some weatherstripping. I found cold air pouring in around my back door and fixed it in about 20 minutes. My January gas bill dropped from $140 to $98. The guy who installed my smart thermostat never once checked for drafts. Has anyone else tried one of these library kits?
