My compost tumbler's handle snapped clean off this morning

It happened right after I added a bunch of wet leaves from my yard in Portland. Anyone have a good fix for a busted plastic handle, or should I just look for a new bin?

Miller, that bolt-through idea is genius actually, now I'm thinking of heat-shrinking rubber tubing over the drawer pull for grip.

Drill a clean hole through the handle stub and the tumbler body. Thread a heavy duty bolt through with a big washer and nut on the inside, then add a metal drawer pull or a piece of thick dowel rod to the outside as your new handle. That fix has held on my old bin for two seasons now. Did the plastic look brittle or just crack from the force?

Seasons" is doing a lot of work there. Drilling into brittle plastic and adding metal parts sounds like a great way to make the whole thing split open next time you put real weight on it. That fix is just a band-aid on a bigger problem. If the handle snapped from just wet leaves, the whole bin is probably sun damaged and weak. You're better off replacing it before the whole thing falls apart mid turn.
