I used to think my one plastic bag didn't matter until I saw a turtle in Florida

I was on a beach clean-up near Miami last year and pulled a plastic grocery bag out of the water, just like the ones I used every week. A volunteer next to me pointed to a turtle rescue tent and said, "That's what they mistake for jellyfish." I looked over and saw a small turtle getting help... it hit me that my "convenience" was part of that. How do you guys actually remember your reusable bags every single time?

What works for me is keeping a few in my car door, like @fisher.mason said. I also hang one right on my front door handle the night before I know I'm going shopping.

The car door trick is the only thing that saved me. I jammed a couple in the passenger door and one in the pouch behind the driver's seat so I can't miss them when I get out. Also started keeping a flat folded one in my jacket pocket during winter, works way better than trying to remember at the door.

My buddy Dave had that EXACT wake up call. He forgot his bags at the store like always, but that same day he saw a video of a vet pulling plastic from a sea bird. He said it just clicked. Now he keeps like five bags in his car trunk and two folded up in his work backpack. The trick for him was making it impossible to forget by having them EVERYWHERE.
