I stopped buying new 'eco' stuff at Target and started repairing what I already own in Akron
I used to grab those bamboo utensil sets and recycled tote bags every time I walked into the Target on Arlington Rd, thinking I was doing my part. Then I added up my spending from last March and it was $340 on stuff I mostly already had sitting in a drawer. Now I take my torn jacket to the tailor on Kenmore Blvd for $12 and patch my own jeans, and honestly my footprint dropped more from that than from any green purchase. Does anyone else feel like the whole 'buy green' thing is just shopping with extra steps?
