Honestly, composting my kitchen scraps has me throwing out way less garbage

I mean, I began tossing food waste into a bin for compost instead of the trash can. Idk, it's made my weekly trash bag so much lighter and the compost helps my little veggie patch. Maybe it's just me, but has anyone else found their trash just... shrinks after starting this?

Ha! My compost bin smells like a SCIENCE EXPERIMENT gone wrong, but you're right about the trash. My garbage bag is so light now I could probably just chuck it with one hand. It's a little gross but totally worth it.

Isn't it crazy how much less trash you have? My kitchen bin feels half empty now too.

Did you ever try composting your coffee grounds? I started tossing mine into a backyard bin last month, and now my kitchen trash bag is barely half full on pickup day. The only downside was these tiny fruit flies that showed up, so I had to switch to a bin with a tight seal. It's kinda gross but totally worth it, you know...
