Warning: I spent $340 on a fancy car cover for my 1966 Mustang and it did more harm than good
I keep my Mustang in a carport, so I figured a nice cover would be smarter than nothing. Dropped $340 on one of those breathable multi-layer jobs from a catalog and felt pretty good about myself for about two months. Pulled the cover off in April and found fine scratches all over the hood and trunk lid, plus a milky haze in the clear coat on the roof. Turns out grit had crept under there and the wind was sanding my paint for me every single day, and the cover trapped moisture on top of it. Now I just park it with the nose toward the house and save the money toward a real garage slab. What do you all do for outdoor parking, or am I the only one who got burned by a cover?
