Unpopular opinion: humidity control is way more important than temp control for long term storage
I kept my '69 Mustang in a climate controlled garage in Houston for 3 years and still got surface rust on the chrome bits. The temp was set at a steady 68 degrees the whole time. Then I moved the car to a cheaper storage place in Conroe that just had a dehumidifier running. After 6 months the difference was night and day. The rust spots actually stopped spreading and the interior leather felt way less brittle. I spent like $200 on a standalone dehumidifier for the current space after that lesson. Has anyone else noticed their paint or rubber seals degrading even in a climate controlled unit?

Oh man, I learned this the hard way too with my old truck. Spent a fortune on temp control while ignoring humidity and the dashboard got all cracked and gross. Guess I need to go pick up one of those dehumidifiers myself before my interior falls apart completely.

Not gonna lie, I saw a video online where a guy had his windshield fog up so bad he almost crashed, and it was all because of humidity. Like, he had the AC blasting but the moisture just sat there. Made me think maybe temp isn't everything. I read somewhere that those cheap little rechargeable dehumidifiers work okay for the price, but you gotta keep emptying them or they just stop. My buddy uses one of those bag things with silica gel beads, says it helps but you gotta bake it dry every few weeks, which is kind of a pain. Just passing that along, your mileage may vary.
