Man I feel this in my bones. I let a 68 Chevelle sit under a tarp in my uncle's shed for about 8 years thinking I was "saving" it, and when I finally rolled it out the floor pans were toast, the wiring was chewed up by mice, and the motor was locked up solid from condensation alone. What saved my next project was renting a cheap 10x20 climate controlled unit at like $120 a month and just accepting it as part of the cost of the hobby, same as buying tires. The car I stored that way for 4 years fired right up with fresh gas and a battery, no rust bloom, no mold, nothing. People act like it's throwing money away but they've never had to scrape a rotted harness out of a car they love. $150 a month is way cheaper than a full restoration, that's just math.
