The paper tag system I mocked now runs my whole garage

My uncle in Dayton swore by writing the car's last run date on a paper tag and hanging it from the mirror, I thought it was silly until my 73 Nova sat 8 months and I forgot the battery was dead. Now I tag every car after I park it, plus I jot tire pressure on the back. Anybody else use a dumb old trick that beats their fancy tracking app?

My buddy Larry left his old F150 parked for one winter and completely forgot about the brake line, which froze and cracked right after he got it going again. Now he just sticks a sticky note on the steering wheel with the date and any weird noises, same idea as you, and it’s saved him twice already.

Hold on, the cold usually makes the line stiff and brittle but the crack itself happens from the water inside freezing and expanding, not really from the line just sitting there. Still, the sticky note trick is solid, that’s a good habit.
