Shoutout to the $40 tarp I bought for my '69 Impala, it trapped water and rusted my trunk floor
Last spring I parked my Impala in the driveway under a cheap blue tarp from the hardware store thinking I was saving it from rain. Turns out the tarp rubbed against the paint every time the wind blew and left a bunch of scuff marks on the roof. Worse, it didn't breathe at all so water pooled on top and dripped down into the trunk through the weather stripping. I pulled the tarp off after about three weeks and found standing water sitting on the trunk floor, already starting to bubble the paint and rust the seam. Ended up paying a body shop $600 to fix the rust and repaint the trunk lid. Anyone got a car cover brand that actually breathes but still keeps rain out?
