Paid 600 bucks for a climate controlled unit, my carburetor still rusted anyway
Everyone on here swears by climate controlled storage, so I rented one back in March for my '68 Mustang. It ran me about 600 dollars a month in Austin, which hurt but seemed worth it. Turns out the unit's dehumidifier was dying and nobody noticed, so the humidity sat around 70 percent for six weeks. My carburetor got a layer of surface rust and the seat foam started smelling musty. I pulled the car out last weekend and now I'm wondering if a regular unit with a cheap moisture-absorbing bucket would've done the same job. Has anyone else had a climate controlled spot fail on them like this?
