My old neighbor saw my sagging tarp and made me move the whole car
When I first parked my 1970 Nova in my side yard, I threw a cheap blue tarp over it and figured that was good enough. My neighbor Gerry walked by one Saturday morning, looked at the roof line, and told me that tarp was trapping moisture and would rust the roof out faster than if I left it bare. I brushed it off for about three months, then pulled the tarp back in October and found a nice ring of bubbled paint where the water had pooled. Gerry helped me drag the car under his carport that afternoon and told me the trick was air flow, not coverage. Two years later the roof is still solid and I check for any tarp resting flat on metal. Has anyone here dealt with a yard spot that has no natural shade, and how do you handle keeping water away without a building?
