My neighbor's one sentence about tire pressure fixed my storage shed setup
I keep my '72 Monte Carlo in a shared garage and always left it on jack stands. Last month a guy walking by said the tires would flat-spot worse than sitting on concrete. Swapped to thick rubber mats and inflated to max sidewall pressure, then check every 6 weeks. Anyone else do the mat trick or just rotate tires during long storage?

Rubber mats under the tires is the way to go for sure. I did the same thing with my old Chevelle when it sat for months at a time, plus I bumped the pressure up a bit. The flat spotting thing is real on bias ply tires especially, but radials will still get a little thump if they sit on bare concrete all winter. One thing that helped me too was rolling the car a few feet every couple weeks if you can, just so a different spot on the tire takes the weight. Checking every 6 weeks sounds about right, I usually do mine when I remember to water the plants in the garage.
