My brother's 65 Mustang sat on dirt for 2 years, then we poured a slab and the rust stopped spreading
My brother parked his 65 Mustang on bare dirt in his backyard in Fresno for about 2 years while he saved up for a motor rebuild. When we finally pulled the tarp off, the frame rails had surface rust and the floor pans were getting soft. We poured a 12x20 concrete slab and moved it inside a carport last spring, and when I checked the floor pans again 6 months later the rust had not spread at all. He runs a cheap box fan under it now to keep air moving. Has anyone else noticed a big difference just from getting a car off dirt and onto concrete?
