Finally got my 67 Mustang stored right after 3 tries

I kept seeing people in this group say you need to put your car on jack stands to save the tires, but nobody mentioned you gotta let the suspension hang free. I left mine sitting on jack stands with the suspension compressed for 6 months and the bushings got all warped. My buddy who restores old Mopars pointed it out when he saw the car, said I basically stored it wrong twice before. Any of you guys messed up the suspension by not letting it droop?

My old neighbor stored his '72 Challenger the same way for two years and the control arm bushings were completely shot when he finally pulled it out. I've always kept the suspension loaded on jack stands under the control arms, never had an issue. Maybe it depends on the car or the bushing material.

Yeah, I always put jack stands under the control arms too, never had a problem with rubber bushings drying out.
